Look up penalties by offence: fines, additional sanctions and licence points deducted.

Effective 1 January 2025, replacing Decree 100/2019 — sharply higher fines for many offences plus licence point deductions.

Vietnam enforces a zero-tolerance rule: any alcohol is an offence. Fines are set in three concentration bands.

From 1 January 2025 fines for disobeying traffic lights rose sharply, with licence points deducted as well.

New from 1 January 2025: every driving licence carries 12 points, deducted according to the offence.
