Old-to-new driving licence class conversion table

The 2024 Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety defines 15 licence classes from 1 January 2025. Licences issued before then remain valid until their printed expiry; on renewal they convert to the matching class.

Quick mapping

• Old A1 → A1 — motorcycles over 50 cc up to 125 cc.
• Old A2 → A — motorcycles over 125 cc. Class A2 no longer exists.
• Old A3 → B1 — three-wheeled motorcycles. Note: B1 is no longer a car class.
• Old B1, B2 → B — cars with up to 8 seats excluding the driver.
• Old C → C1 or C depending on the vehicle's gross mass.
• Old D, E → D1, D2, D depending on seating capacity.
• Old FB2, FC, FD, FE → BE, C1E, CE, D1E, D2E, DE — the trailer classes.

The easiest mistake: old B1 and new B1 are completely different. Old B1 was an automatic car under 9 seats; new B1 is a three-wheeled motorcycle.
